Tax service: you can find out about your debt via email or SMS notification

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Each taxpayer can receive the service of free information about debts from messages received by email or via SMS to a mobile phone.

The Tax Service has created an interactive service «Informing about debt», which allows you to quickly find out about your tax debt. After filling out a special consent form, a company or individual will be able to receive electronic notifications about debt. The tax service will inform about the debt no more than once a quarter.

The form and format of the consent were approved by order of the Federal Tax Service of Russia dated 11/30/2022 No. ED-7-8/1135@.

It is most convenient for citizens to send agreement in electronic form — via «Taxpayer personal account for individuals» Federal Tax Service of Russia. In order to provide consent, you need to enter the “Other situations” tab, and then select the “Consent (refusal) to inform about the presence of arrears and (or) debt for penalties, fines, interest.”

Consent can also be submitted on paper directly to the tax office, or sent by registered mail.

Considering the large number of phishing emails through which scammers use personal data, it is recommended to download forms only on the official website of the Federal Tax Service of Russia.

Organizations can also submit consent through the EDF operator, via personal account of a legal entity on the Federal Tax Service website or in person. Regardless of the form in which the consent is submitted, it must be signed by an authorized person: a director or a representative by proxy. Electronic consent is signed by UKEP.

The period for sending consent is not limited. It does not need to be submitted annually. You will need to resubmit your consent if your phone number or email address has changed.
