Teenagers in Russia complain about grass on the network
Krympress reports:
The safe Internet league for 2024 received more than 1 million appeals from citizens, a third of them were associated with the topic of persecution. Every day in social networks new groups are created with persecution of adolescents, residents in different regions. In addition, any facts of bullying in schools are now becoming public in a matter of hours.
The Internet space is increasingly becoming an instrument of aggression and manipulation, especially in relation to minors, notes the member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, the federal coordinator of the Digital Russia party project Anton Nemkin.
The fact that a third of a more than a million appeals is related to grasses indicates the scale of the problem. Cyberbulling causes real psychological harm, often comparable to offline nasalia, and requires immediate, system measures at all levels-from technological solutions to educational programs— emphasizes the deputy.
Of particular danger is the fact that adolescents become targets not only for bullying, but also for ideological processing. Attempts to involve young people in illegal actions through the network — whether it is sabotage, attacks on infrastructure or participation in destructive communities — this is no longer a script from fantastic films, but a reality that law enforcement agencies face. “Teenagers who are not fully realized by the consequences of their actions are easier to convince that they are“ something important ”, and hostile structures are actively using this,” Nemkin added.
It is possible to resist this only through early prevention and formation of digital literacy with an emphasis on critical thinking. Schoolchildren and students should be able to distinguish real information from manipulations, know who you can contact in the case of online thugs, and understand that the actions on the network are not a “game without consequences”. It is important to develop not only technical filters and locks, but also accompany children on the Internet — through education, dialogue and trust, the deputy is sure.
In addition, the state and society should jointly build a digital security strategy: to strengthen the monitoring of content, support platforms struggling with grass, and introduce an algorithms for a quick reaction to cyberization. The Internet is an integral part of the life of adolescents, and our task is to make it safe space, ”the parliamentarian concluded.
