Territorial Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund of the Republic of Crimea: compulsory medical insurance policies do not have a validity period and are issued free of charge
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation warns about a new scheme to deceive citizens by telephone scammers: they call Russians and, posing as employees of medical insurance organizations, claim that the compulsory health insurance policy has allegedly expired. Under the pretext of re-registration, the attackers demand the provision of personal data, which could potentially be used to access citizens’ savings.
The Territorial Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund reminds: for citizens of the Russian Federation insured in the compulsory medical insurance system, policies are issued for an indefinite period and free of charge. At the moment, both previously issued paper and plastic policies, as well as digital ones issued in the form of an extract after December 1, 2022, are valid.
If it is necessary to replace the policy on physical media (damage or loss), a new compulsory medical insurance policy is issued digitally by submitting an application on the State Services portal or through a medical insurance organization operating in the region.
The detailed procedure for registering or replacing a compulsory medical insurance policy can be found on the official website of the Territorial Compulsory Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of Crimea https://tfomsrk.ru/poluchenie-i-zamena-polisa-oms/as well as by calling the toll-free Contact Center in the field of compulsory medical insurance 8 800 301 41 53.
At the same time, don’t hang up the phone if a real insurance representative calls you. The responsibilities of representatives of insurance medical organizations include informing insured persons about the medical examination and reminding them about medical observation. They can also assess public opinion on public satisfaction with medical care. In this case, the citizen is not required to provide any financial information.
