CrimeaPRESS reports:
Two neo-pagans were sentenced to 12 and 14 years in a maximum security colony for preparing for a terrorist act — blowing up an Orthodox church in Simferopol. About it reported in the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
Two Simferopol residents detained in February 2022 were found guilty of preparing for a terrorist attack in an Orthodox church. It was established that two friends born in 1990 and 1994, being adherents of neo-pagan religion and holding radical views, entered into a criminal conspiracy aimed at committing a terrorist act in February 2022. The location of the explosion was determined to be the territory of the religious organization «Orthodox parish of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God «Guide» of the city of Simferopol, Republic of Crimea, Simferopol and Crimean diocesethe message says.
As security officials found out, one of the detainees convinced his friends that Christianity needed to be exterminated and several terrorist attacks should be carried out. He said that if after this there is no reaction, then the “Crimean Alliance of Pagans,” to which he identifies himself, will continue its criminal activities until all Christians “die out” or accept paganism. The organizer developed a crime plan; his friend, also a pagan, agreed to assemble an explosive device.
To make a homemade explosive device, the men purchased ammonium nitrate and aluminum powder, from which they illegally made an explosive, and also illegally purchased an electric detonator. They did not have time to complete their plan, as they were detained.
