Thanks to new equipment, urologists at the Simferopol Central Regional Clinical Hospital perform minimally invasive surgeries
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Thanks to the purchase of new equipment, urologists of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Simferopol Central District Clinical Hospital” began to perform minimally invasive surgeries.
As the chief physician of the medical organization, Yuri Semenov, reported, this year a thulium laser for lithotripsy (stone crushing), a ureterorenoscope (endoscopic instrument) and a manipulation cystoscope were purchased for the surgical department at the expense of the standardized insurance reserve for the urological service.
This equipment allows, without incisions, through the natural urinary tract, to perform diagnostic studies and surgical interventions aimed at examining the ureters and bladder, as well as crushing stones located in them. Such types of interventions are minimally invasive, which improves the degree of tolerance of the intervention by patients and significantly reduces the period of subsequent rehabilitation. Also, with the help of this equipment it is possible to perform emergency surgical interventions aimed at draining the upper urinary tract in acute obstructive pyelonephritis.
In addition, the urological service of the Simferopol Central District Clinical Hospital also has a bipolar resectoscope, with which doctors plan to begin performing minimally invasive operations for prostate adenomas. Thus, equipping district medical organizations with the most modern equipment allows them to expand the range of surgical interventions they perform and increase the availability of medical care for patients.— the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea notes.
