That’s it, it’s over… The volume of fish production in Crimea has decreased by almost three times in 10 years
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The ministry noted that in 2014 the production volume was 15.6 thousand tons and in 2016 reached its maximum value in 10 years — 20.3 thousand tons. Then, until 2022, the volume of production of aquatic biological resources either increased or decreased due to the influence of various reasons, such as weather conditions (storms, temperature changes), changes in climatic conditions, as well as a decrease in fishing load due to long-term repairs of large fishing vessels.
Since February 2022, fishing volumes have been declining due to restrictions on shipping associated with a special military operation and the closure of the main fishing areas, so in 2022 production volumes already amounted to 7.1 thousand tons, and in 2023 — 5.9 thousand tons,” explained the Ministry of Agriculture.
The ministry noted that over 10 years, the number of fishermen actually engaged in fishing (those who received fishing permits) has increased by more than 50%: in 2015, their number was 149, and by the end of 2023 — 235 subjects.
