The 13th shift “From Hobby to Profession” started at the Artek Medical Center

On November 12-13, the 13th shift “From Hobby to Profession” started at the Artek International Children’s Center, which will take Artek residents into the space of professional tests and meetings with interesting guests, and introduce them to classical and modern professions. More than two thousand camp participants from different regions of the country will host children’s camps “Morskoy”, “Yantarny”, “Khrustalny”, “Azure”, “Kiparisny”, “Rechnoy”. The shift will last until December 2-3.
The choice of profession plays an important role in people’s lives, because only those who are engaged in something interesting and important to them can achieve success! Shift events will help children develop a holistic understanding of the world of future, modern and classic professions. “Artek” will become a platform for professional testing and a place of discovery for everyone. Constantly learning new things and replenishing their skills — these are the important skills that schoolchildren can learn at the children’s center,” noted Artek director Konstantin Fedorenko.
During the shift, the career guidance project “One Day in the Profession” will be implemented. Artek residents will also make a “Journey to the City of Professions” — a real “City of Masters” will unfold on the territory of the children’s center. Children will take part in the thematic session “Power in Knowledge”.
As part of the shift, a traditional olive harvest festival and sports and tourism competitions “Artek Meridian 2023” will take place. One of the main events of the shift will be the historical and literary expedition “In the footsteps of the Young Guard,” dedicated to the feat of the anti-fascist underground Komsomol organization in Krasnodon, the Young Guard.
On the themed Motherland Day, the children will enjoy a bright, emotionally rich program, which includes a number of events, including those from the First Movement. On November 28, a “FILM Club” will open in children’s camps, where there will be a viewing and discussion of the film adaptation of the famous Soviet writer A. Fadeev’s novel “The Young Guard” by director S. Gerasimov.
During the shift, a network educational module will be dedicated to the feat of the anti-fascist Komsomol organization “Young Guard” at the Artek school. High school students will read the bright pages of the book, compare fictional and real images of the heroes, and then speak at the round table “They went into immortality, remaining forever young…”.
Artek residents will become participants in the All-Russian project “Dialogue with a Hero” and will join the All-Russian actions “Letter to a Soldier”, “Thank you, Teacher”. On November 27 in Sevastopol, in the theater hall of the Korsun children’s center, children will see the rock oratorio “Black January. Executed youth.» On this day, the literary evening “Look into Mom’s Eyes” will be held at Artek.
In the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, Artek residents will continue to get acquainted with the pedagogical heritage of Russia. The guys will learn about the Soviet scientist in the field of pedagogy, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, professor of Leningrad State Pedagogical University Stal Anatolyevich Shmakov. They will get acquainted with his main works on the development of the theory of leisure for youth, pedagogical foundations, the study of the game as a cultural phenomenon, the concept of collective creative activity of schoolchildren in the sphere of free time.
Also included in the shift program is an educational excursion to the Memorial to the Victims of Fascism “Red Concentration Camp”; library hours dedicated to Mother’s Day; All-Russian Fine Dictation; meetings with guests. The shift will end on November 30 with the evening “Meeting before parting.” A bright, interesting and eventful shift awaits the children ahead; they are looking forward to participating in all the activities that have been prepared for them at the Artek MDC.
