The 2,400 km long marathon “How Victory was Forged” started in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Today in Sevastopol the sports and patriotic race “How Victory was Forged!” started in Sevastopol, dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Sevastopol from the Nazi invaders. The ambassador of the Healthy Fatherland movement, athlete and historian Stanislav Loginov will run an exciting marathon through the paths where the Great Patriotic War unfolded. The marathon will end in St. Petersburg.

It’s great that Stanislav’s idea has begun its implementation today. At the stadium of the sports and recreation complex named after the 200th anniversary, we, together with the children from our sports schools, met the marathon runner and joined in exercises with the champion. I hope that the participants charged each other with energy and, accordingly, a piece of Sevastopol will run to the Hero City of Leningrad with great greetings and warmth from us. We believe for sure that everything will work out. We are very glad that the project has started in our Hero City– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the sports department Sergei Reznichenko.

Ahead are 30 days of running, 8 hero cities, 22 cities of military glory, meetings with residents of the regions, during which Stanislav Loginov will tell young people about the exploits of heroes, battles and battles.

With this project we are launching the historical and patriotic direction of the “Healthy Fatherland” movement. We plan to attract the attention of children and teenagers to the history of the country, talk about it in a convenient and modern format and educate patriots of their country who should know the history of Russia, its cities, wartime heroes and those who gave us peace, — notes the head of the Healthy Fatherland movement Ekaterina Leshchinskaya.

Every day Stanislav Loginov will run about 80 kilometers. It is planned to set a record for the longest individual marathon in cities that participated in the Great Patriotic War. Let us remind you that Stanislav’s previous record was a marathon of 2,100 kilometers.

My mission is to tell everyone about the paths where our soldiers defended the Fatherland — our Motherland. And run social networks in an interesting format for young people, so that as many patriots as possible can join ussays Stanislav himself.

In Sevastopol, the project started with the laying of flowers at the Sapun Mountain memorial complex, from where, in order to support the project, participants ran through seven memorial places, where ceremonial rallies took place, the final point being the alley of defenders of the 35th battery. Stanislav Loginov also met with representatives of the Government, social activists, northern walkers “Bodry Step”, activists of the “First Movement”, held a press conference where he spoke about the idea of the origin of the project, its importance at a time when they are trying to rewrite the history of Russia. As Loginov noted, right now every Russian must actively preserve the most valuable thing that the Russian people have — memory and rich history.

Residents of Sevastopol also learned about the all-Russian public movement “Healthy Fatherland,” which supported the project “How Victory was Forged.” Today the movement has representative offices in the regions, where over 150 events were held, with 750 thousand people participating, 13 races were held, 50 free training sessions for beginning athletes, 130 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to new regions of Russia, 5 sports grounds and a sports complex were opened in Mariupol. Now “Healthy Fatherland” is implementing the largest project “Marathon of Exercises”, which has already covered 10 regions of Russia. On the main stage of the international exhibition “Russia”, famous champions conduct mass exercises, where they talk about their sets of exercises that help them win. At the very first exercise, Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics Nikita Nagorny set a record — 5,773 people simultaneously repeated after him.
