The 22-year-old man responsible for the fatal accident will be tried in Yalta
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Yalta, a 22-year-old man found himself in the dock. He is accused of committing an accident in which the driver of another car died.
It was established that in November 2023, during daylight hours, while driving a technically sound Mercedes car, the accused did not choose a safe speed and allowed the car to skid onto a continuous line of road markings. As a result, the vehicle drove sideways into the lane intended for oncoming traffic, where it collided with a GAZ car. As a result of a traffic accident, the driver of a GAZ car received bodily injuries from which he died in a medical facility, and a passenger in the same car received bodily injuries that caused grievous harm to health— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the Yalta City Court for consideration on the merits. Let us note that according to Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of a person through negligence) the maximum penalty is imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years.
