The 6th International Music Festival “Road to Yalta” will take place at the State Kremlin Palace

On April 28 and May 1, 2024, the 6th International Music Festival “Road to Yalta” will take place at the State Kremlin Palace. From the main stage of Russia, songs about the Great Patriotic War will be performed in the native languages of foreign vocalists-competitors from 15 countries.
The festival was first held in Yalta in 2019, and soon it became one of the most significant annual cultural events in the country and the most prominent television projects dedicated to the Great Victory. Starting from 2022, the Road to Yalta will be hosted by Moscow. Live broadcasts of concerts are watched on city screens by residents of many regions of Russia, and viewers from dozens of countries join the online broadcast. To preserve and convey through songs the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War, to glorify the image of the Soviet and Russian soldier-liberator, to remind of the terrible price that our country and our people had to pay for getting rid of the plague of fascism — this idea was laid down in the “Road to Yalta” festival its president Andrey Kondrashov and artistic director Ernest Matskevičius. Dozens of singers around the world who took part in the festival became the vehicles for this idea, and their number is growing every year.
The “Road to Yalta” festival is held on a competitive basis. In 2024, the organizing committee received 210 applications from vocalists from 55 countries. In the online qualifying round, the jury identified 15 foreign participants who were invited to Moscow — their competitive fate will be decided based on the results of the concerts in the Kremlin Palace. Representatives from Germany, Greece, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Cyprus, China, Congo, Madagascar, Mongolia, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, and France qualified for the 2024 final, which will be held in two stages.
Solo performances of vocalists, where they will perform Soviet songs about the war in their native languages, will take place on the first day of the competition — April 28 — in the Small Hall of the State Concert Hall. And on May 1, at the final gala concert in the Great Hall of the State Concert Hall, foreign performers will perform in duets with stars of the Russian stage: Zara, Yaroslav Sumishevsky, Ekaterina Guseva, Dmitry Dyuzhev, Alexey Maklakov, Polina Agureeva, Alexey Petrukhin, Yuta, Anna Bolshova, Alexandra Vorobyova, Vasily Gerello and others. And this year there are 15 of them too!
The laureates of the “Road to Yalta” in 2024 will be determined by a jury consisting of: Honored. art. RF Denis Maidanov, honorary art. RF Kai Metov, Honored art. RF Zara, Honored art. Russian Federation Alexander F. Sklyar, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko, President of the Kurchatov Institute Research Center Mikhail Kovalchuk, silver medalist of the 2023 Road to Yalta festival Tino Eisbrenner. The chairman of the jury is People’s Artist of the RSFSR Lev Leshchenko.
The online broadcast of “Road to Yalta 2024” will be held on the website doroganayaltu.ru, on the social networks of the festival and its partners. The premiere of the broadcast version of the gala concert, according to established tradition, will take place on the eve of Victory Day on May 8 at 19:45 on the Kultura TV channel.
The organizer of the “Road to Yalta” festival is the Humanitarian World Foundation, which implements large socially significant projects.
The international music festival “Road to Yalta” is implemented with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of Crimea, VGTRK, TASS, MIA “Russia Today”.
