The Academy of Creative Industries «Megan» is exploring the «Russian code» in modern architecture

From June 15 to August 21, on the basis of the Academy of Creative Industry «Megan» (project «Taurida.Art») the program «Russian Architectural Code» will be held. Its participants will be architects, environmental designers, sociologists, art historians, representatives of municipalities, journalists and bloggers, students and graduate students of specialized universities and everyone who is interested in the history of Russian and foreign architecture and the formation of the modern style of Russian cities.

The Russian Architectural Code program is designed to unite representatives of the youth architectural community, reveal their potential and form a platform for joint development by architects of the modern Russian style. Young experts comprehensively investigate the architectural features of the regions and develop practical recommendations for the use of a new Russian style in the creation of projects.

Participants in the Russian Architectural Code program will study both the main elements of the Russian style in architecture and the local architectural features of the regions of our country. Under the curators of experienced experts — architects, urbanists, economists, art historians, they will plunge into the traditions of Russian and foreign architecture, get acquainted with the concepts of developing the cities of the future and modern spatial planning of Russia, will analyze the main crisis points of modern cities and ways to overcome them by means of architecture and design.

The program will be divided into two modules. The first module will be held online from June 15 to August 10, during which participants will get acquainted with the program and experts, immerse in the history of Russian art and architecture, study the sociology of the city, as well as the futuristic concepts of the urban environment. During the second module, which will take place in full-time format-from August 15 to 21 on the basis of the Academy of Creative Industries Megan, participants are waiting for master classes, visiting excursions and work on real projects as part of a cross-disciplinary teams under curators of mentors from architectural bureau.

The result of the Russian Architectural Code program will be a global study of the Russian code in architecture, the creation of a collection of practical recommendations on working with modern Russian architectural style, as well as a presentation of architectural and artistic concepts of real projects for certain regions of our country-taking into account their local identity.
