The action «Give books with love — 2023»: how it was held in Sevastopol

February on the International Day of Book Giving in the libraries of Sevastopol summed up the results of the All-Russian campaign «Give books with love — This year, about 2.5 thousand people took part in it. They replenished the funds of libraries for adults and children by almost 8 thousand books.
We are summing up the results of the weekly promotion. All collected books will go to the collections of libraries for our readers. Among other things, we ourselves are donors and today we donate books to the republican libraries of the Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics so that young readers and youth can join the artistic word, immerse themselves in the history of Russia and the history of our city. In addition, today a special selection of books called «Read Warrior» will be sent to our friends in the military 2017 th Marine Brigade. These are books about kindness, courage, love for the Motherland, a sense of duty and friendly support , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the regional information library system of Sevastopol Elena Volkova.
Traditionally, the main patrons of the action were Sevastopol writers and poets, civil servants, deputies and veterans, cultural and educational institutions, charitable foundations and commercial organizations, as well as school teachers, kindergarten teachers and their pupils. Libraries received as a gift works by local authors, winners of literary awards, books on art, psychology, medicine, IT-technologies, ancient history.
The history of interaction between the centralized library system of the city of Sevastopol, the Society of Russian Culture and the Department of Internal Policy has long roots. Thus, the Department of Internal Policy is engaged in the manufacture of various printed products dedicated to the culture, traditions, and customs of the peoples who inhabited Sevastopol. Each edition is transferred to the library system so that all residents of the city can get acquainted with the unique ethnographic and historical literature that we are preparing together with historians, representatives of cultural societies of our city , — says the head of the department for work with national societies and religious organizations of the Department of Internal Policy Vladimir Kolesnikov.
In addition, the Central City Library named after. L. N. Tolstoy passed the transfer of books within the framework of the project «Bibliodesant», which in 810 received a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society.
