The “Active Longevity” project is being implemented in Crimea, aimed at improving the quality of life of older people

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Head of the Republic of Crimea in his Telegram channel spoke about plans to implement the “Active Longevity” project in the republic. Referring to the Address of President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly, Sergei Aksyonov recalled the moral duty of authorities at all levels to support the older generation, which has made a great contribution to the development of the country. Older people should have decent conditions for an active, healthy longevity, and at the end of the next decade, Russia should become one of the countries where life expectancy exceeds 80 years.

As the Head of the Republic recalled, in order to achieve the stated goal, from January 1, 2025, the implementation of the national project “Long and Active Life” will begin in Russia. At the same time, the “Active Longevity” project is being implemented in Crimea.

The corresponding branches of this program will be opened at the beginning of next year at 20 centers for social services for elderly citizens and the disabled. It is planned to attract up to 10 thousand elderly people in all municipalities of the republic to participate in the project through the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea– notes the Head of Crimea.

Sergei Aksyonov added that the centers will offer the elderly a number of areas, including studying information technology, teaching computer and financial literacy, sports and creativity.

In total, 119 thousand people will participate in the activities of the Active Longevity program next year.
