The activities of the Sevastopol temporary detention center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were checked by a public activist and the ombudsman

The event took place as part of the annual “Civil Monitoring” campaign aimed at strengthening trust between citizens and internal affairs bodies.
A member of the Public Council at the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol, the chairman of the city trade union of police officers, retired police colonel Alexander Konyushok and the Commissioner for Human Rights of the city of Sevastopol Pavel Butsay arrived for the inspection.
During the monitoring, Alexander Konyushok and Pavel Butsay, accompanied by the acting head of the temporary detention center of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol, checked the premises of the temporary detention center, where they assessed the conditions of service of police officers and the conditions of detention of suspects and accused.
The inspectors inspected the detention cells to make sure that the sanitary and living conditions met the requirements and standards, and also talked with the detainees who were in the temporary detention facility about the conditions of detention, food and medical care. During the “Civil Monitoring,” no complaints were received about the conditions of detention, as well as about unlawful actions on the part of police officers.
The representative of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexander Konyushok, and the Commissioner for Human Rights, Pavel Butsay, positively assessed the work of the employees of the temporary detention center. They noted that there are no complaints about the performance of law enforcement services, the rights of persons in custody are not violated.
