CrimeaPRESS reports:
The all-Russian tournament “The Strongest Man of Russia 2024” for the prizes of the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov was held in Yevpatoria on October 26.
The competition took place as part of the celebration of National Unity Day. About this portal «Crimean sport“reported the press service of the international heroic movement “The Strongest Nation in the World” (Anna Vysotskaya).
11 leading Russian athletes were divided into two divisions and first competed in four spectacular relay races and exercises: lifting a heavy beam weighing 150 kg overhead for the number of times in one minute, a running relay race (carrying a yoke weighing 400 kg for 20 meters plus carrying “suitcases” weighing 150 kg each for 20 meters), towing a truck crane weighing 22 tons at speed in a special harness along a rope for 20 meters and walking with the “Bogatyr Carousel” in a circle with a diameter of 12 meters (the weight of the “carousel” is 330 kg, the load on the athlete is 250 kg, for range).
The winners of their divisions, Dmitry Skosyrsky from Omsk and Alexander Klokov from Yelets, Lipetsk region, competed in the fifth and final exercise. Standing opposite each other, they threw a stone ball weighing 180 kg over a bar 125 cm high.
He won and became the holder of the title “The Strongest Man of Russia 2024” Dmitry Skosyrsky.
“The intrigue remained throughout the tournament; in each exercise, the leaders of the overall standings and the leaders of subgroups changed. And, of course, we saw the most striking fight between Dmitry Skosyrsky and Alexander Klokov in the final. We plan to make the tournament for the title of “The Strongest Man in Russia” an annual event. I thank the Presidential Grants Fund and personally the head of the Republic of Crimea S.V. Aksenov for their support— emphasized the president of the international heroic movement “The Strongest Nation in the World” Mikhail Paller.
Let us note that Egor Sorokoletov from Kerch took fifth place, and Simferopol resident Konstantin Koldunov took seventh.
Also, as part of the tournament, a pair Russian Record was set for towing railway equipment — the only narrow-gauge tram operating in Russia weighing more than 20 tons over a distance of 10 m in 2 minutes. Record holders — Crimean athletes — the legendary strongman from Sudak Jamshid Ismatillaev and famous powerlifter from Bakhchisarai Dmitry Alekseev.
The motto of this achievement is the motto of the Republic of Crimea “Prosperity in Unity!” Only together, through common efforts, can we overcome any difficulties and win. The organizers decided to put this meaning into this record, consistent with the celebration of National Unity Day.
The record is included in the Register of Records of the heroic movement “The Strongest Nation in the World”, as well as in the Russian Book of Records. The record parameters were recorded by Mikhail Ivanov, an expert in the heroic movement “The Strongest Nation in the World”, and Mikhail Shivlyakov, an expert from the Russian Book of Records “Russian Marine”.
The competition was held under the auspices of the international heroic movement “The Strongest Nation in the World” with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
