The annual “Sportsman of the Year” award was presented in Sevastopol

In Sevastopol, the best athletes and coaches were presented with federal and regional awards. For their high achievements, they were awarded sports titles, certificates of honor and gratitude from the Olympic Committee, as well as awards from the “Sportsman of the Year” competition.

A very fertile year for the sports community, for the development of sports infrastructure and for the city as a whole. This year we increased the number of representatives of the Hero City in the national teams of the Russian Federation. Sevastopol sounded like victories in the highest sports arenas of the country and the world thanks to the athletes and coaches present in the hall today. And given what is happening now with world sports, our Sevastopol athletes, the country’s athletes, have gathered and consolidated even more.

It is a great honor for me to work in the Sevastopol sports team. I would like to say a big thank you to the heads of sports schools, heads of federations, coaches and, of course, athletes who glorify our Hero City– noted the head of the city sports department Sergei Reznichenko.

In 2023, the competition’s expert commission identified more than 40 winners in 16 categories. They became:

Nomination «Best Athlete in Olympic Sports»: international class master of sports in boxing Elena Gapeshina, master of sports in judo Alexander Shalimov.

Elizaveta Chekhlataya, candidate master of sports in sailing, was awarded by the Olympic Council of Sevastopol.

Nomination «Best athlete in non-Olympic sports»: master of sports in sumo Tatyana Borisova, master of sports in wrestling and master of sports in hand-to-hand combat Daria Krapivina.

Nomination “The best athlete in Paralympic and Deaflympic sports”: Master of Sports of Russia of international class in sports for persons with musculoskeletal impairment (discipline — boccia) Olga Dolgova, Master of Sports in sports for persons with impairment of musculoskeletal system (discipline — swimming) Karina Boldyreva.

Nomination «Promising»: candidate master of sports in sailing Ekaterina Kovaleva, candidate master of sports in kayaking and canoeing Alexander Dolgov, master of sports in boxing Islamov Israfil Anar Ogly.

The following awards were awarded from the Olympic Council of the city of Sevastopol: a student of the Olympic reserve sports school No. 2 Polina Tyuleneva, representatives of the sports school No. 7 Timyan Gabdrakhmanov and Elisey Tarasov, an athlete of the Olympic reserve sports school No. 4 in boxing, master of sports of Russia Artem Chervyakov.

Nomination «Best Coach»:

  • In Olympic sports — Master of Sports of the USSR in kayaking and canoeing, Honored Trainer of Russia Vadim Nikitenko, trainer of the highest category in boxing Ruslan Davidenko.
  • In non-Olympic sports or disciplines — Honored Master of Sports in sumo Konstantin Ermakov, Honored Coach in wrestling Alexey Zadniprovsky.
  • In Paralympic and Deaflympic sports — Honored Coach of Russia, Honored Worker of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the city Irina Mashchenko, Honored Worker of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of Sevastopol Anna Melnikova.

The Olympic Council of the city of Sevastopol awarded the highest category coach in judo, master of sports in judo and sambo Vyacheslav Amelin.

Nomination «Best Team in Team Sports»: national water polo team of the city of Sevastopol among boys under 16 years old, national basketball team of Sevastopol State Leviathan University.

Nomination «Best Sports Veteran»: master of sports in swimming Tatyana Sharun, master of sports of international class among veterans in sambo and judo Leonid Rubel.

From the Olympic Council of the city of Sevastopol: Master of Sports of Russia in athletics, Russian record holder in the Masters category Svetlana Goncharova.

Nomination «Best Sports Federation»: Sevastopol Sailing Federation, Sevastopol Acrobatic Rock and Roll Federation.

From the Olympic Council of the city of Sevastopol: Sevastopol Wrestling Federation, Sevastopol Boxing Federation.

Nomination «The best physical culture and sports organization»: Sevastopol City Rugby Federation, All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Society «Dynamo» in the city of Sevastopol.

Nomination “The most athletic municipal district of the city of Sevastopol”: Gagarinsky municipal district.

Nomination «Leader in the Fitness Industry«: network of fitness clubs «FitBalance».

Nomination “The best organizer of physical culture and sports work”: Vladimir Khoroshavin.

Nomination «Best sporting event»: All-Russian mass basketball competition “Orange Ball” in the city of Sevastopol, All-Russian wrestling competition in the discipline of pankration.

Nomination «Best Volunteer 2023»: Volunteer of the Testing Center for fulfillment of testing standards (tests) of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” (GTO) in the city of Sevastopol Daria Meshcheninets.

Nomination «Best Sports Commentator»: Honored Journalist of Sevastopol Vladimir Melyansky, photojournalist of Forpost Media LLC Irina Gorobets.

From the Olympic Council of the city of Sevastopol: Yulia Blotskaya, Svyatoslav Danilov.

Nomination “Grand Prix “Sportsman of the Year 2023”: Honored Master of Sports of Russia in kayaking and canoeing Anastasia Dolgova, Honored Master of Sports of Russia in sports for persons with ODA impairment (discipline — swimming) Andrey Granichka.
