He says that he did not want to kill, only… to cut with a knife “on the basis of sudden hostility.”
The prosecutor’s office of the Kyiv district of Simferopol supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 55-year-old local resident. The Crimean citizen was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).
The court found that on June 23 of this year the spouses drank alcoholic beverages together in an apartment on the street. Malofontannaya, where the family lived. Out of sudden hostility, the man hit his wife with a kitchen knife. The woman died from her wound while in the apartment— said the prosecutor’s office.
The man did not admit guilt in committing the crime, explaining that he had no intent to kill his wife. The court, taking into account the position of the prosecutor, sentenced the man to 10 years in prison to be served in a high-security correctional colony. The convict appealed the said sentence.
The Judicial Collegium of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea agreed with the arguments of the state prosecutor and upheld the decision made by the court.
