The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea expects an increase in the area of ​​gardens for stone fruit crops in 2024, reported TASS in the Ministry of Agriculture of the region.

Since 2014, the area of ​​stone fruit crops has increased by 31.5%. Thanks to government support measures, the area of ​​stone fruit crops is expected to increase by 102 hectares in 2024says the response to the request signed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Marina Doroshenko.

It is noted that in the region every year state support is provided to horticultural enterprises for the purchase of seedlings, the purchase of components and the installation of trellises and anti-hail mesh. The amount of budget allocations provided for in 2024 to support enterprises in the horticulture industry is 559.4 million rubles.

These support measures have a positive effect on the development of horticulture in the Republic of Crimea; the area of ​​perennial plantings in the republic, thanks to state support measures, annually amounts to more than 700 hectares,” the response says.

Harvest forecasts

The Ministry of Agriculture did not predict the harvest of berries and fruits this year. “It is too early to talk about the harvest of stone fruit crops and strawberries, since there is a possibility of return spring frosts in the republic,” the department noted.

In 2024, the volume of the harvested grapes in the republic is tentatively expected not to be lower than the level of the volume of the harvested harvest in 2023, that is, not lower than 115.2 thousand tons

In 2023, agricultural producers of the republic collected 24.491 thousand tons of stone fruit crops, which is 103.7% of the 2022 level.
