The Armed Forces of Ukraine hit a group of Russian journalists-military correspondents. RIA Novosti reporter died

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On July 22, at about 12:00, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an artillery attack on a group of journalists from the Izvestia Information Center and the RIA Novosti news agency, who were preparing materials about the artillery attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with cluster munitions of settlements in the Zaporozhye region. This was reported in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

As a result of the strike of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with cluster munitions, four journalists were injured of varying severity. The journalists were promptly evacuated to field medical facilities of the Russian Defense Ministry, where they receive qualified medical care. During the evacuation, Rostislav Zhuravlev, a journalist with the RIA Novosti news agency, died from injuries resulting from the explosion of a cluster submunition. The state of health of other journalists is moderate, stable. There is no threat to life. They receive all the necessary medical care.the message says.

Ukraine has once again demonstrated that it violates international norms that say that journalists in a war zone should not be subjected to violence. Moreover, the Armed Forces of Ukraine dealt a blow to civilians with cluster munitions. Recall that this weapon is banned in more than 100 countries, as it can cause great harm to the population. Each projectile releases dozens of smaller bombs that are inaccurate and fail to detonate too often.

ADDED:

The profile commission of the Federation Council on information policy and interaction with the media, after clarifying all the circumstances, intends to apply to the OSCE in connection with the attack on Russian journalists in Zaporozhye, said commission chairman Alexei Pushkov.

There is already information that the shelling was targeted, that the blow was inflicted on a civilian vehicle, which could not pose any threat to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There was information that the Ukrainian side could be informed that war correspondents were moving there.the senator said.
