The autumn strawberry harvest has begun in Sevastopol. Thanks to modern technologies, local farmers and a warm climate, berry picking continues into the velvet season.

At the agricultural enterprise JSC Artvin, remontant strawberries of the Murano variety are grown. This is a variety characterized by high yield and large, sweet berries. It bears fruit several times a season, is resistant to major strawberry diseases, and this variety also has good winter hardiness. In total, the company harvested more than 40 tons of strawberries during the season, but the autumn harvest has just begun.

2024 is a difficult year in terms of climatic conditions for enterprises. But despite the difficulties, our agricultural producers were able to harvest more than 60 tons of strawberries this season. The enterprises mainly grow the drought-resistant Clery variety and the highly productive Murano variety. All greenhouses have a drip irrigation system— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the Department of Agriculture Natalia Skoryukova.
