The Bakhchisarai District Court sentenced the men who created an “armory” at home

The Bakhchisarai District Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced two local residents for illegal acquisition, transportation, storage of firearms and ammunition, as well as explosives and explosive devices. The men will serve their sentences in a maximum security penal colony for the next 5 years. In addition, the court imposed a criminal fine of 300 thousand rubles each on the perpetrators.
The materials of the criminal case established that in the summer of 2022, two residents of the village. Bogatyr of the Bakhchisarai region, by prior agreement, acquired, under unknown circumstances, firearms and ammunition, as well as explosives and explosive devices. Fellow villagers kept the entire arsenal at the place of residence of one of them in hiding places, until law enforcement officers unexpectedly visited him. A Kalashnikov assault rifle and a Makarov pistol, interchangeable magazines and a considerable amount of ammunition (about 900 units), as well as explosives and explosive devices were found in the “armory chamber”— reported the press service of the court.
As the defendants explained, they needed weapons and ammunition for personal safety. At the court hearing, they agreed with the prosecution and fully admitted their guilt.
The court came to the conclusion that the defendants were guilty and that their actions were correctly qualified under Part 3, Clause “a” of Article 222.1, Part 3, Clause “a” of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – illegal acquisition, transportation, storage of firearms and ammunition to it, as well as illegal acquisition, transportation, storage of explosives and explosive devices committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.
The verdict did not enter into legal force.
