CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Bank of Russia introduced new banknotes. Banknotes in denominations of one thousand and five thousand rubles have changed thematically, but have retained the color scheme (turquoise and red).
The thousand-ruble banknote is dedicated to Nizhny Novgorod and the Volga Federal District. The main image of the front side is the Nikolskaya Tower of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin; the reverse side shows the Museum of the History of Statehood of the Tatar People and the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan, the Syuyumbike Tower on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin, the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography in Ufa.
The five thousandth banknote is dedicated to Yekaterinburg and the Ural Federal District. The main image of the front side is the “Europe-Asia” stela; on the reverse side there is the monument “Tale of the Urals” in Chelyabinsk, the stela “66-parallel” (Arctic Circle) in Salekhard— reported the Central Bank.
As noted in the press service of the regulator, the new banknotes will go into circulation gradually and will circulate on a par with banknotes of the 1997 model.
The Bank of Russia expects that banks and trading enterprises will not need much time to set up equipment to receive them.
