The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a storm warning about dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena in Crimea for February 5-6.

On the afternoon of February 5, due to the passage of a cold frontal section in Crimea, the following is expected: rain turning into sleet, snow in the mountains, very heavy precipitation in the southern, central, eastern regions and in the mountains— reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.

In addition, on February 5 and at night on February 6, the southwest wind is expected to increase with a transition to the north-west up to 25-30 m/s, in the southern regions and mountains — up to 35 m/s.

In these conditions, there is a high probability of emergencies associated with accidents at energy facilities, housing and communal services, an increase in the number of road accidents, disruptions in transport communications, obstruction of vehicle traffic on roads, long descents and ascents, dangerous turns and mountain passes. Flooding of areas is possible.

There is a threat to the life and health of the population due to the possible fall of billboards, weakly reinforced structures, trees and possible broken power linesthe emergency department said in a statement.

There is also a possibility of incidents occurring in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas and the Kerch Strait. The presence of people in the coastal zone, on piers and shore protection structures is life-threatening.
