The “Believe in Yourself” sports festival was held in Sevastopol

On the eve of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the sports festival “Believe in Yourself” was held within the walls of the Sevastopol sports and recreation complex.
International Day of Persons with Disabilities is traditionally celebrated in early December. On the eve of this holiday, thematic events are being held throughout the country, which give children, youth and adults with disabilities the opportunity to spend leisure time together and feel the spirit of unity– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the sports department of the city of Sevastopol Sergei Reznichenko.
More than 200 athletes with disabilities, parents and accompanying athletes with disabilities, as well as employees of the Invasport Center took part in the event.
The UN General Assembly in 1992 proclaimed December 3 as the International Day of People with Disabilities. Today there are athletes here who train at the Invasport center: those who recently came to us and those who have already achieved high sports results. We invited you here to celebrate this holiday together. You will have the opportunity to participate in competitions on the grounds prepared by our coaches, – Evgeniy Mashchenko, director of the State Budgetary Institution “SASH – Center “Invasport”, solemnly greeted all participants.
As part of the celebration, relay races and competitions for all athletes in the following disciplines were prepared for the participants: darts, cyber sports, boccia, floor curling, and precision throws with a ball into the hoop. At the end of the holiday, all participants were presented with memorable gifts and souvenirs.
The sports festival was held with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle among people with disabilities and limited health capabilities, popularizing and further developing sports among them in our region.
