For the first time, the Crimean regional branch of Russian student teams held a competition of professional skills among service teams, which brought together 60 students of service areas of training from leading educational organizations in the region
From October 11 to 13 on the basis of the Romanov College of Hospitality Industry and the Crimean Federal University named after. V.I. Vernadsky held a competition of professional skills, at which the best waiters, maids and service administrators working as part of the student service teams of Crimea were determined. The competition consisted of a theoretical stage for knowledge of the general aspects of working in the service sector and a practical stage, in which the skills and abilities of working in one’s profession, knowledge of etiquette and approaches to working with clients were assessed. The competition participants also worked on solving difficult situations with clients and tested their abilities in organizing events.
Particular attention was paid to teamwork and the readiness of young professionals to cope with non-standard tasks that may arise in their professional activities. Participants presented projects to improve the quality of service in hotel services and public catering systems.
Based on the results of the competition, the “Romanovsky Service” squad was recognized as the best student service team in the Republic of Crimea, whose participants demonstrated a high level of training and creative approaches to solving professional problems.
Vladislav Zhitnik, commander of the Romanovsky Service student service squad, noted the importance of participating in such competitions:
This victory is the result of our hard work and teamwork. The competition was an excellent opportunity to test one’s strengths, apply knowledge in practice and see what else one can work on. We are very pleased that our efforts were highly appreciated. We will continue to improve and reach new heights of service.
