The Black Sea Cossack Army was formed in November 2018. The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, noted the importance of the revival of the Cossacks in the country and in the republic.
The task of the Cossacks at all times was to protect the borders of our state. And now the Black Sea Cossacks, like many generations of their ancestors, defend Russia and the Orthodox faith. From the first days of the Northern Military District, Cossacks from different regions have been fighting the enemy. Much is being done to help the front. A militia and a territorial defense unit have been organized in Crimea and Sevastopol. I thank the representatives of the Black Sea Cossack Army for their significant contribution to the military-patriotic education of youth and to the protection of public order. Russia and Crimea need Cossacks“, — said the Head of Crimea and added that the authorities of the republic are ready to continue to support the initiatives of the Cossacks.
In turn, the ataman of the Black Sea Cossack Army, Cossack Colonel Anton Sirotkin, summed up the interim results of the army’s work in implementing the state policy strategy towards the Russian Cossacks.
In addition, Crimean delegates were identified to participate in the work of the Great Circle of the All-Russian Cossack Society.
REFERENCE. In November 2018, the Founding Circle took place in Simferopol, at which the Cossacks of Crimea and Sevastopol decided to unite into a single Black Sea Cossack army. In 2021, during the first Great Circle of the All-Russian Cossack Society in Moscow, by unanimous decision of the delegates of eleven registered Cossack troops, the Black Sea Cossack Army became part of the All-Russian Cossack Society, becoming its full member.
