The Black Sea Higher Naval School named after Nakhimov celebrated the 86th anniversary of its foundation

Sevastopol hosted events dedicated to the 86th anniversary of the founding of one of the oldest military educational institutions in Russia — the Black Sea Higher Naval Order of Nakhimov and the Red Star School named after Pavel Nakhimov (ChVVMU).
According to the press service of the Southern Military District, the celebrations began with a general parade of personnel, the introduction of the State Flag of Russia, the Naval Flag and the Battle Banner of the School. A celebratory order was read to the personnel of the ChVVMU, faculty, veterans of the Navy and graduates of the school.
After that, the participants of the event laid wreaths and flowers at the Memorial to the graduates and officers of the ChVVMU who died during the Great Patriotic War, laid the foundation stone for the future Memorial to the graduates and military personnel of the school who gave their lives in the performance of military dutythe message says.
The festivities ended with a visit to the museum of the school by veterans of the Navy.
REFERENCE: The Black Sea Higher Naval Order of the Red Star School named after Pavel Nakhimov was founded in Sevastopol in 1937. Since 1992, the school has functioned as a naval institute of the Ukrainian Navy, which in 2009 was transformed into a naval academy. On March 20, 2014, during the «Crimean Spring», at the suggestion of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed an order to revive the famous naval educational institution in the city of glory for Russian sailors — Sevastopol. On May 13, 2014, the school was awarded the Battle Banner. On September 1, 2022, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, presented the school with the Order of Nakhimov.
