The case of an accident in Simferopol involving a Crimean social activist is being taken to Moscow

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Main Investigation Department to petition for the transfer to its proceedings of a criminal case about an accident in Simferopol with the participation of a Crimean social activist. In one of the programs on the federal television channel, an accident involving a member of the Public Chamber of Crimea Oleg Shcherbakov was discussed. On the night of September 8, on Kievskaya Street in Simferopol, Shcherbakov’s car flew into the oncoming lane and rammed two cars. One of them was driven by a 61-year-old man who died. It is reported that the person responsible for the accident was intoxicated and tried to escape. The victim’s relatives fear that he may evade responsibility.
A criminal case on this fact was initiated by internal affairs bodies. Investigators of the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea immediately filed a petition to the prosecutor to transfer the criminal case from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the investigation of investigators of the Investigative Committee. Due to the fact that a decision has not been made to date, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee to petition for the transfer of this criminal case to its proceedingsreports the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
