The Center for Radiation Diagnostics was opened in the TB dispensary of Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In the Sevastopol TB dispensary, a CT scanner was installed on the 64 section and a modern X-ray machine with elements of artificial intelligence. The equipment is ready for operation, it is planned to carry out the first studies in the new year. The new tomograph is equipped with modern software and a contrast agent injector. The device will help doctors detect tuberculosis in children and adults. An entire wing was overhauled in the dispensary to accommodate a CT scanner. In the office intended for the new equipment, they carried out preparatory and dismantling work, made openings, installed a ventilation and air conditioning system, and replaced the electrics. The repair was carried out taking into account the requirements of regulatory and technical documentation, since CT scanners belong to a number of complex medical systems, for the accurate and uninterrupted operation of which it is important to observe all the details.
The new equipment is very important, it creates new conditions on the bar higher for the provision of medical care, especially since we create such compact conditions on the territory of one hospital, where various studies can be carried out. Thanks to the national project «Healthcare» and cooperation with Moscow, we were able to equip our medical institution with such modern equipment , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Alexander Kulagin.
The new apparatus makes it possible to detect minimal specific changes in the affected organ. This makes it possible to start treatment on time and significantly improve the prognosis of the course of the disease, control the effectiveness of therapy.
Andrey Verbitsky, head physician of the TB dispensary, noted that earlier, for computed tomography, it was necessary to conclude contracts with third-party organizations, the volume of examinations was much lower. From now on, the new equipment will be used to examine adults and children who are in the hospital, as well as polyclinic patients with active tuberculosis who need differential diagnosis.
The peculiarity of our new tomograph is that it has a good resolution, the ability to conduct a study with contrast, which is used to diagnose not only pulmonary and extrapulmonary forms of tuberculosis, but also for the differential diagnosis of oncological processes. The tomograph allows you to see all the small changes — this is very important, first of all, for diagnosing children with positive Mantoux tests and the result of a diaskintest, for HIV-infected patients when selecting patients for surgical treatment, as well as for more correct control of patients who have small forms of the tuberculosis process , Andrey Verbitsky said.
Also, a new X-ray machine of domestic production was installed in the dispensary. It allows for accurate diagnosis due to high image quality, and the resulting images can be analyzed on a computer. It can be used to examine children and patients with limited mobility.
