Today, at the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, a solemn ceremony was held to hand over the standard of the Commander of the Black Sea Fleet to Vice Admiral Viktor Sokolov, appointed to this position.

The ceremony was attended by deputy commanders of the fleet, heads of departments of the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet.

Vice Admiral Viktor Sokolov was born on April 4 1962 in the city of Bender, Moldavian SSR. Over the years, he graduated from the Higher Naval School named after M.V. Frunze, the Higher Special Officer Classes of the Navy, the Naval Academy named after N.G. Kuznetsov, the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
