The Children's Center for Medical Rehabilitation of Sevastopol received new equipment
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Sevastopol Children’s Center for Medical Rehabilitation received new equipment under the program «Optimal medical rehabilitation for restoring health.» These are stair-climbing machines, a robotic bicycle ergometer, a bedside exercise bike, a pneumatic acupressure device and an electropuncture diagnostic device. The new equipment is intended for the rehabilitation of patients with lesions of the central nervous system, cerebral palsy with movement disorders, as well as diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
Children’s rehabilitation care in Sevastopol is a modern three-level system for providing medical care to children from 0 to 18 years old. Since 2023, a 24-hour hospital with 30 beds has been operating. Rehabilitation assistance in Sevastopol is an actively developing area with decent equipment and highly qualified specialists— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the deputy director of the health department Victoria Pertseva.
The use of new equipment will help improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation due to the ability to stimulate those areas that cannot be affected by hands or exercise therapy.
The equipment helps children after severe injuries, with damage to the peripheral nervous system. For example, an ankle, knee, and hip trainer can provide virtualization and coordination and balance training. One of the latest achievements in the field of medical technology, which was received at the children’s center, is a neuro-orthopedic rehabilitation pneumosuit. Classes in it help the patient to maintain posture, learning motor skills. The suit restores muscle tone, increases muscle strength endurance and significantly reduces the rehabilitation time for patients— notes the head of the Children’s Center for Medical Rehabilitation Larisa Tverdokhleb.
It should be reminded that in total, about 80 units of equipment have already been received under the “Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Restoring Health” program, and about 300 more units are scheduled to be delivered by the end of the year.
