The City Athletics Championship took place in Sevastopol

The city championship in athletics took place at the stadium named after the 200th anniversary of Sevastopol. Running disciplines at various distances, including hurdles, and team performances — the 4×100 m relay, as well as high and long jumps — were presented here.
About 130 boys and girls, juniors and juniors competed for medals in four age groups: under 16, under 18, under 20 and under 23 years old. The junior group was expanded to include even younger participants who showed decent results throughout the year, and the senior group included athletes at the youth level.
In addition to the competition awards, the athletes had the opportunity to establish themselves as candidates for the national team. The final composition of the city team for next year will be formed based on the results of the remaining competitions in 2023– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the department for youth and sports Sergei Reznichenko.
The city championship participants included both experienced athletes and beginner athletes who are just taking their first steps at such significant competitions. The undisputed leaders of the Sevastopol team also came out to confirm their status — these are, first of all, girls born in 2006-2007, performing in the sprint, representatives of the high jump and athletes who took the start in the long run of 800 and 1,500 meters.
Sevastopol athletics is ready to expand and gladly invites young Sevastopol residents to join the classes.
If a child wants to engage in athletics in Sevastopol, or parents see their child in athletics, then he can be enrolled in the department at the stadium named after the 200th anniversary of Sevastopol. The event was held within the framework of the regional project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”.
