The City Garden in the center of Yalta will take part in the project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment”

The “City Garden” square in the center of Yalta appeared in the 80s of the 19th century near the embankment. Over its long history, it has changed its appearance several times. Currently, the theater is located here. A.P. Chekhov, the Yubileiny concert hall, a fountain, a number of sculptural compositions, the historical building of the Roffe Baths (Villa Sofia), a memorial sign at the burial site of the Red Army soldiers and a number of other objects.

In 2019, as part of the all-Crimean action “The Future is in Unity,” which was timed to coincide with the 5th anniversary of the Reunification of Crimea with Russia, ornamental plants were planted in the park and at the same time the issue of improvement of this territory was raised, and the development of documentation began— said the Yalta administration.

It was decided to include a list of participants in the Annual All-Russian online voting for the selection of territories to be improved as a priority in 2025 as part of the federal project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment”, located on the territory of the municipality of the Yalta Urban District.

Voting will take place this spring, and Russian citizens over 14 years of age will be able to participate in it via the platform https://91.gorodsreda.ru/and with the help of volunteers.

If we win the vote in the City Garden park, it is planned to replace the existing covering with granite tiles similar to those laid on the embankment. Also, as part of the improvement, new trees and shrubs will be planted, automatic watering will be installed, existing flower beds will be modified, new MAFs (urns and benches) will be installed, a photo zone will be installed at the entrance, outdoor lighting and video surveillance systems will be installed. Changes have been made to the previously existing project documentation: it is planned to equip a platform for a brass band and open-air dancing in the parkreports the information policy department of the Yalta administration.
