The resort town of Saki has been given the status of a resort of federal significance. The order was published on the website of the Russian Government.
Saki is one of the oldest year-round balneological mud resorts in Russia, located in the northwestern part of Crimea, just 5 km from the Kalamitsky Bay of the Black Sea. Saki mud is not inferior in its healing properties to the mud of the Dead Sea. The city’s infrastructure is designed for the comfort of people with limited mobility. Back in Soviet times, sanatoriums were built here to improve the health of residents of all republics.
At the moment, active work is underway in Saki to implement the “Crimean Riviera” project, which is part of the “Golden Sands of Russia” project of the federal year-round resort program “Five Seas and Lake Baikal” carried out within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality”. A 4-star hotel complex with 2,400 rooms will be built on the territory, which will be able to receive up to 500 thousand tourists annually. During the implementation of the project, a publicly accessible infrastructure will be created, which will include: an all-season water park, a children’s center, an amusement park, a congress center with a concert hall, a wine tourism center, thermal and medical complexes, a water sports center, as well as a gastro street with a variety of ethnic cuisines. The resort is scheduled to open in 2028.
As part of the largest investment project “Golden Sands of Russia”, the Monolit company is the key investor and master developer of the future resort in Yevpatoria and plans to invest at least 60 billion rubles in the project. The developer will create a unique resort that will have no analogues in the south of Russia. The project includes the construction of a 12-kilometer embankment and a number of three, four and five star hotel complexes with developed infrastructure. This will provide additional tourist flow, tax deductions, jobs and will make Evpatoria a year-round world-class resort.
Rest will be available to all guests and residents of Crimea, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. The hotel complexes will have spa complexes, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, aquaplay areas, as well as restaurants, shops and other commercial infrastructure. The resort is expected to welcome its first tourists in 2030.
Before starting the design and construction of new facilities on the first line by the sea, it is necessary to ensure the implementation of the project of moving the Saki-Evpatoria highway bed closer to the railway right-of-way. This major infrastructure project will be implemented with the support of the republican and federal authorities. The expected start of road construction depends on the development of project documentation and funding within the framework of the federal target program. The work should be completed by 2027. In addition, it is planned to carry out measures to install new utility networks: gas supply, electricity supply, water supply and sewerage.
