On February 27, the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, signed a Decree on renaming the State Institution «Center for the Provision of Civil Protection Measures of Sevastopol» into the State Public Institution «Rescue Service of Sevastopol». The service received a new name, among other things, as a result of a survey of city residents by interactive voting.
The goals and objectives of the activities of the «Rescue Service of Sevastopol» remained the same:
— prevention of emergencies, minimization of their consequences and protection of the population and territories;
– response to man-made and natural emergencies, extinguishing fires in populated areas and at facilities remote from the units of the State Fire Service, conducting rescue operations at water bodies and in mountainous forest areas within the administrative-territorial boundaries of Sevastopol.
