IV scientific conference “ARCHON. Ancient relics of Chersonesus: discoveries, finds, theories” with the museum opened on September 19. It is dedicated to the memory of A. N. Dear colleagues, friends, guests! I welcome you to the territory of our wonderful museum. Of course, I really want the fourth, now traditional “ARCHON” conference to become a new stage in your work, so that it brings professional and human pleasure to everyone. I am pleased that in spite of everything we are all gathering here, in this place of power — Tauride Chersonese. Coming here, everyone discovers something new for themselves. And at the same time, we want to make sure that the museum is not just an advanced scientific institution, but an outstanding center of history and culture of Sevastopol, the Crimean Peninsula and Russia. I congratulate everyone on the opening of the conference! I want you to truly enjoy your work and Chersonesos. All the best to you! — the press service quotes the director of the museum-reserve E. A. Morozova.
The first reports were devoted to the biography of A. N. Shcheglov and his contribution to the study of antiquities of the Northern Black Sea region. Then S. B. Lantsov, head of the department of ancient history of the Institute of Archeology of Crimea of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told the audience about the underground siege hydraulic structure at the Kulchuk settlement of the distant chora of Chersonese.
