The government has increased the cost of living in Russia for the next year. This was announced by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers clarified that the constituent entities of the Russian Federation will establish their own values, to which many types of benefits and benefits are tied, for example, payments to needy families with children.
The Government press service noted that after the increase, the cost of living in Russia as a whole per capita will be 17,733 rubles, for the working population — 19,329 rubles, for children — 17,201 rubles, for pensioners — 15,250 rubles.
The cost of living is calculated based on the median income for 2023, which, according to Rosstat, amounted to 40,121 rubles— reports website Cabinet of Ministers of Russia.
The median salary means that 50% of jobs offer a salary below a specific value and 50% of jobs offer a salary above. We are talking about the salary that the average worker in the country receives.
