The “courier” of telephone scammers will be tried in Simferopol – he was caught in his first “case”

A “courier” of telephone scammers will appear in court in Simferopol for stealing money from an elderly person. He is charged under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, on a large scale).

According to investigators, at the beginning of January 2024, the accused, acting together with other unidentified persons, the criminal case against whom was separated into separate proceedings, committed the theft of money from an elderly citizen by providing him with knowingly false information about his relative committing a traffic accident .

The victims and the accused were given money in the amount of more than 400 thousand rubles, allegedly for failure to prosecute the culprit of the traffic accident.,” the prosecutor’s office provided details.

It is clarified that the damage caused was compensated in full during the preliminary investigation.

With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to court. “Courier” faces imprisonment for up to 6 years.
