At the bases of the Black Sea Fleet ships, exercises were conducted to combat the survivability of the ship. According to the press service of the Southern Military District, the training is aimed at the crew’s ability to ensure the survivability (the ability of a ship, in the event of various damages, to restore and maintain its combat capability) of the ship in various combat and emergency situations.
During the exercises, the sailors practiced the tasks of localizing and extinguishing fires in the ship’s premises, as well as eliminating holes in the ship’s hull and eliminating the influx of seawater, and improved their skills in using fire extinguishing equipment. During fire-fighting training, sailors need to quickly equip themselves in firefighter suits, seal the burning compartment and stop the spread of fire with further elimination of fire sourcesthe message says.
The training of ship rescue parties was carried out at a special training complex (UTC). This is a training complex in which various internal ship rooms and compartments are simulated, which allows ship crews to practice skills in fighting for the survivability of the ship in conditions as close as possible to the real situation, with the actual flow of sea water and fire of bulkheads.
