The Crimea was charged in absentia in the murder of a Georgian citizen. Crime — more than 20 years

The Office for the Investigation of Particularly important cases established that in January 2001, a 26-year-old visiting man, being at night in the company of acquaintances on the street. The Armenian Feodosia, out of hooligan motives, provoked a conflict with a 23-year-old local resident. During the conflict, the attacker inflicted several blows to the passers -by with a hunting knife, including in the neck. The attacker disappeared from the scene, and the victim was taken to a medical institution, where he soon died of injuries,-the press service of the department said.

Investigators and forensic investigators, together with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the framework of systematic work on the disclosure and investigation of crimes of past years, established all the circumstances of the commission of a particularly serious crime, as well as the whereabouts of the defendant in another state. He was put on the international wanted list and he was charged with murder in absentia.

The criminal investigation has been completed. Materials were sent to the prosecutor with the aim of studying, approving the indictment and sending the case to the court.
