CrimeaPRESS reports:
Vladimir Putin signed a decree conferring the honorary title «Guards» on the 8th Artillery Regiment.
The document notes that the honorary title was given to «for mass heroism and courage, fortitude and courage shown by the personnel of the units in combat operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts«.
Note that the 8th artillery regiment is deployed in the Crimea. The Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov congratulated the defenders of the peninsula:
Congratulations to the personnel of the 8th Artillery Regiment on being awarded the honorary title «Guards»! The corresponding decree was signed by the President. Our fighters successfully fulfill all the assigned tasks, bringing our unconditional Victory closer. I wish the guys courage, stamina and health!
