The Crimean authorities are interested in the manufacturing sector of correctional institutions

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea Mikhail Nazarov, as part of a working trip, visited correctional colony No. 1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The purpose of the visit is interaction on issues of placing orders and popularizing the manufacturing sector of correctional institutions. The Deputy Chairman of the Government of Crimea, together with the leadership of the institution, toured the production areas, where they got acquainted with the wide range of products produced by the convicts.
The task of correctional institutions is not only to perform the functions of punishment, but also to engage in the re-education of convicts, to provide an opportunity with their work to some extent compensate for the bad things that have been done. Today, the work carried out by correctional colony No. 1 clearly shows that the work of convicts is in demand. It produces high-quality and competitive products that are in demand not only in Crimea, but also in other regions of our country. Here today we saw metal products, the process of tailoring, and furniture production. A new workshop for the production of metal-plastic windows is also being put into operation.noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
According to him, government support is also important — we see it in the example of businesses that have the right to work on the sites of correctional institutions. This work creates new jobs.
