The Crimean cycle of publications «Victory in the Persons»: Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Nikolai Shevyakin
Krympress reports:
The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, spoke about the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Nikolai Timofeevich Shevyakin in the new material of the cycle of publications “Victory in the Persons”.
Nikolai Timofeevich was born in 1932. Before the war, he managed to graduate from three class classes. But at the end of October 1941, the village of Bazarchik (now — the village of Postalovoye), in which the family lived, was occupied by the Nazis.
Despite his young age, Nikolai joined the fight against the invaders. He collected information in the surrounding villages about the location of military equipment, the enemy’s manpower and handed them over to the partisans.
When performing the next task, Nikolai wounded and contusion. But this did not stop the young fighter: after recovery, he remained in the partisan detachment, went to intelligence. Including, thanks to his work, a warehouse of ammunition of the Nazis at the Alma railway station was destroyed.
In April 1944, together with the partisans, Nikolai liberated the Bakhchisarai district and his native village.
After the victory, he continued to receive education. He worked as a movie mechanic in the Bakhchisarai district, an electrician at the state farm named after V.P. Chkalov and at the Alminsky factory of building materials in the village of Scalist.
Sergei Aksyonov noted that the merits of the veteran are marked with high awards. “The story of Nikolai Timofeevich is a vivid example of the fact that the strength of the spirit of our people does not depend on age,” concluded the head of Crimea.
