On April 20, in Moscow, as part of the VI All-Russian Festival of Taste and Confectionery Art “Tortida,” a competition of confectioners and gingerbread makers “Tortida 2024: Wedding Season” was held.

The Tortida festival appeared in 2018 in the Republic of Crimea. For 5 years, confectioners, bakers and gingerbread makers of Crimea and Sevastopol competed for the title of the best, the winners represented the Republic at national championships and competitions. From this year the festival became all-Russian. The purpose of the Tortida festival is to preserve the culture of consumption of confectionery products made from natural products, to create a platform for demonstrating the talents of confectioners and gingerbread makers, to support and promote competition winners and festival participants. The Tortida festival is an annual confectionery, bakery and gingerbread event, and the heart of the festival is the competition of confectioners and gingerbread makers. The jury of the competition is industry experts, teachers of specialized educational institutions, technologists, famous confectioners and gingerbread masters, — note the festival organizers.

On April 20, confectioners and gingerbread makers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Barnaul, Maykop, Shchelkovo, Kashira, Zvenigorod, Balakhna presented their works. In sweet products they embodied their idea of ​​the most exciting event in a person’s life – a wedding.

The chairman of the competition jury in 2024 was Irina Georgievna Belyavskaya, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Russian Biotechnological University, Moscow.

The competition-exhibition “Tortida 2024: Family Stories,” dedicated to the Year of the Family, will take place on September 14-15 in Crimea. Confectioners and gingerbread makers from all over Russia will gather at the festive site and tell residents and guests of the peninsula their family stories through gingerbread and confectionery products.
