The Crimean government agreed with retail chains to stabilize prices
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A) For now on paper. B) For 30 items of goods. C) They say that prices will stabilize “in the near future.”
Another attempt to curb price increases (caused by both objective and subjective reasons) was made in Crimea. The Republican government signed an agreement with retail chains “on taking measures aimed at stabilizing retail prices for a number of socially significant essential food products in the Republic of Crimea.”
As reported by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea, the document was signed by the Prime Minister of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk together with representatives of manufacturing companies and retail chains. The purpose of the agreement is to stabilize prices for thirty types of socially important food products and to prevent their unreasonable overestimation in the future.
581 retail outlets (stores of large retail chains) undertake to reduce prices for individual items by up to 30%. Wholesale trade system entities also undertake the obligation not to exceed the trade margin by more than 5%.
Prices for goods can increase only for objective reasons, for example, due to an increase in the cost of fuel for agricultural machinery or necessary fertilizers and agrochemicalssaid the Head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov, thanking the companies for their productive cooperation and concern for the Crimeans.
The Head of the Republic instructed the Ministry of Industrial Policy of the Republic of Crimea to determine an algorithm for working in the same direction with non-stationary retail facilities and small stores.
In turn, the Minister of Industrial Policy of the Republic of Crimea Anushavan Aghajanyan said that current information about manufacturers and the list of companies participating in the agreement will be published on official website departments.
Also, in the near future the goods will be revalued in accordance with the signed document. Compliance with the conditions will be monitored by the Ministry of Industry of Crimea with the assistance of the Federal Tax Service“, the minister added.
PS. It is not entirely clear that the Crimean authorities and large retail chains agreed on stabilizing prices for WHAT EXACTLY (we doubt that small and medium-sized retail businesses will be satisfied with a five percent trade markup). Judge for yourself, 30 positions of socially significant goods are reported. And specifically food.
The list of essential goods is contained in Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of July 15, 2010 N 530 (changes were made in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2020). It has 24 positions:
- Beef (except boneless meat)
- Pork (except boneless meat)
- Lamb (except boneless meat)
- Chickens (except chicken legs)
- Frozen fish, whole
- Butter
- Sunflower oil
- Drinking milk
- Chicken eggs
- Granulated sugar
- Table salt
- Black long tea
- Wheat flour
- Rye bread, rye-wheat bread
- Bread and bakery products made from wheat flour
- Polished rice
- Millet
- Buckwheat — core
- Vermicelli
- Potato
- Fresh white cabbage
- Bulb onions
- Carrot
- Apples
Probably, in Crimea, 6 more positions will be added to the above. Which ones? And the main question: price tags in Crimea will change (minus 30%) from what date?
