The Crimean Ministry of Internal Affairs summed up the results of its work for the first 6 months of 2024

The Minister of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, Police Lieutenant General Igor Illarionov, summed up the results of the official activities of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs for the first half of the current year.
The head of the Main Directorate for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Lieutenant General Oleg Ilyinykh, heads of regional Ministry of Internal Affairs units and heads of territorial internal affairs bodies at the district level took part in the work of the extended meeting of the board via videoconference.
At the beginning of the meeting, Lieutenant General of Police Oleg Ilyinykh and Lieutenant General of Police Igor Illarionov presented state and departmental awards to distinguished employees of the republic’s internal affairs agencies, after which the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, Colonel of the Internal Service Aleksey Golubev, made a report on the results of operational and service activities. He reported that this year in the Republic of Crimea the number of serious and especially serious crimes decreased by 6.1%, rapes by 54.8%, intentional causing of serious bodily harm by 16.7%, murders by 10.5%, armed robberies by 47.1%, muggings by 21%, thefts by 13.9%, including from apartments by 41.1% and vehicles by 19.6%, car thefts by 35.5%, violations of traffic rules and operation of vehicles by 18.2%, thefts using information and communication technologies by 1.8%.
The number of crimes committed in public places decreased by 24.2%, including 26.6% on the streets. The number of robberies committed in public places decreased by 62.5%, robberies by 39.2%, and thefts by 15.8%.
7,270 crimes were solved, including more than 1,974 serious and especially serious crimes.
The detection rate for murders, rapes, intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, armed robberies and car thefts was 100%.
The efficiency of work on solving serious and especially serious crimes, thefts, including from apartments and vehicles, robberies, fraud and thefts committed using information and communication technologies has increased.
The internal affairs agencies identified 952 drug-related crimes, including 679 serious and especially serious crimes.
The report included an assessment of the effectiveness of the department’s work in solving specific types of crimes, and examined the results of the fight against illegal arms trafficking, corruption, countering extremism, and compliance with migration legislation.
Summing up the work of the department, the Minister of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, Lieutenant General of Police Igor Illarionov, taking into account the current operational situation and the socio-political situation in the region, focused on issues of ensuring law and order, crime prevention, and protecting the legal rights and interests of citizens.
