The Crimean operator «Miranda» is now also in Kuban. They say — to help the Crimeans
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Federal-scale mobile operator Miranda is now operating in Krasnodar Krai. <…> Miranda’s entry into a new region is connected with the desire to help residents of Crimea, who are clients of federal operators with Krasnodar numbering, switch to Miranda while keeping their number and use communication services comfortably in the regions where they live— the message says.
It is noted that clients of federal operators living in Crimea are forced to travel to Krasnodar Krai in order to receive full service, since federal operators do not have communication stores on the peninsula.
The company’s director, Irina Kuzmina, explained that since Miranda has a license to operate in the Krasnodar region, and in fact operates there, subscribers of federal operators can switch within one region.
Legislatively, everything is correct. However, we encounter unjustified refusals and delays. About 3% of applications for porting subscribers from the federal operator to Miranda are satisfied— Kuzmina’s words are quoted in the report.
Major Russian mobile operators do not operate in Crimea, fearing to fall under Western sanctions. On the peninsula, communication services are provided by the companies K-Telecom (Win-mobile brand), KTK-Telecom (Volna Mobile), Krymtelecom, Miranda and Sevtelecom. At the same time, residents of Crimea themselves often use MTS SIM cards attached to the Krasnodar Territory.
Previously, Miranda held negotiations with other participants in the mobile services market in the region about the possibility of transferring customer numbers from one operator to another.
