«Pages of Fates.»
Russian history has not only heroic, but also tragic pages, which every citizen of our country should know. On the Day of Remembrance of Crimean Crimeans and Crimean Jews — victims of Nazism, the Crimean Republican Library for youth hosted the “Pages of Fates” event.
The guest of the library on this day was the adviser to the chairman of the Public Council, one of the founders of the Jewish religious community of the city of Simferopol, Yuri Borukhovich. Speaking about the fascist genocide, which continued until the liberation of Crimea by Soviet troops, he noted that more than 20 thousand Jews and two and a half thousand Crimeans were killed in the cities and villages of Crimea. In addition, Yuri Borukhovich spoke about commemorative events organized on the tenth kilometer of the Feodosiya Highway, where mass executions of innocent people took place during the war.
The Chief Rabbi of the Republic of Crimea, Yehezkel Lazar, also spoke to the readers. He spoke about the importance of spiritual and moral education of modern youth.
As part of the event, Irina Ignatova’s poem “To the Crimean Brothers” was read. At the end of the meeting, library visitors examined the thematic book exhibition, which presented specialized publications.
