The Crimean sought to join the ranks of Ukrainian terrorists, but ended up behind bars for a long time

In the Southern District Military Court (in Rostov-on-Don), the verdict was announced in a criminal case against Alushta resident Albert Lorikovich Kruglov, accused of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 30, part 2 art. 205.5 and part 1 of Art. 30, art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. It was established that during the period from September 21 to November 16, 2022, the Crimean citizen decided to leave for the territory of Ukraine, wanting to take part in the activities of the terrorist organization UVNO “Azov” banned in the Russian Federation.
Kruglov acquired the equipment and funds he needed, and also developed a secret route for his journey from Russia to the territory of Ukraine— reports press service of the court.
On October 28, 2022, the defendant entered into correspondence with a person who took part in hostilities as part of the Ukrainian forces and discussed his route to the territory of the specified foreign state and the possibility of acquiring special military equipment. On November 16, Kruglov’s illegal activities were stopped by law enforcement officers.
In accordance with the court verdict, the defendant was found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 8 years in a high-security correctional colony with the first 3 years served in prison. The verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed by the parties to the Military Court of Appeal.
