10 medals (10 gold, 4 silver and 10 bronze) was won by the Crimean team at the sumo championship and championship of the Southern Federal District. The strongest wrestlers from the south of the country gathered in Krasnodar to participate in the competition. In the conditions of fierce competition, the Crimeans turned out to be the most productive: not a single athlete was left without a medal, according to the Crimean Ministry of Sports .
Some of the guys, of course, could have performed better. You know, we always feel like we should have done better. And then even better. Gotta be better than gold. You have to be a platinum champion (laughs). But, of course, this is something to strive for. And at the moment we have brought a whole arsenal of medals and, of course, we are satisfied with the result , — notes team leader Olga Davydko.
Now the Crimeans will prepare for the next competitions — the championship and the championship of Russia, which will be held in Tyva. The Crimean Sumo Federation plans to send a delegation of athletes there. They will include those who have competed in the Southern Federal District, as well as experienced adult athletes who have represented the peninsula more than once in the All-Russian arena. The championship and the championship of the country will start 24 February in Kyzyl.
